Kuala Lumpur, 29 September 2016 – Following a successful start to the inaugural season of the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship (F4SEA) – certified by FIA – last August, the Promoters today announced that three young Malaysian drivers will be recipients of the SIC-Triple A Scholarship to race in the region’s premiere junior formula racing category.
The three Malaysians are 17-year old Adam Khalid, 18-year old Eric Louis Pragasam and 20-year old Chia Wing Hoong. The SIC-Triple A scholarship programme entails a bursary to aid in the drivers’ campaigns in the 2016 Formula 4 South East Asia championship priced at €100,000 per season. Already amongst the most cost-effective and economical in the FIA’s Formula 4 global format, the F4SEA Championship is also uniquely designed as an FIA single-operated championship, the only one of its kind allowing drivers full access to data and the provision of an equal and level playing field.
The Malaysian trio will be in action at the second installation of the six scheduled events this season from 14 – 16 October at Clark International Speedway in Angeles City, Philippines. The round will once again feature the same six-races-per-weekend format, which is also unique to the F4 SEA. The event will also include the Fuji Xerox Star Driver trophy awarded to the event’s most successful driver.
